DNS Mail Exchanger Verification

MX Record Lookup & Mail Server Inspector

Check the Mail Exchanger (MX) records for any domain name. Verify priority routing, detect email service providers, and confirm incoming email routing.

What is an MX Record?

An MX (Mail Exchanger) record is a DNS entry that specifies which mail servers are responsible for accepting incoming email messages on behalf of a domain name. Each MX record includes a preference number (priority) — the lowest number has the highest priority.

How Does MX Priority Work?

Sending mail servers attempt to deliver messages to the MX host with the lowest numerical preference first (e.g. priority 1 or 5). If that server is unreachable or offline, the sender fails over to the next priority server (e.g. priority 10 or 20).
